i totally love this girl, hidayah yuswirahim.
so you know how i have to send the 500 word essay on japan thing.
i have ideas right but the thing about me is that i have a weird way in wording things.
so when i write it down i will just simply not make sense.
i go round and round and round. it's horrible.
so i had hidayah to help and she's a legend i must say.
i have never met someone whose english is so articulate, it's just amazing.
i read it (after she edited it) and i was at awe.
really that girl, she has every potential to become a world class journalist.

so i thought good things should be shared right.
read it everyone. i'm pretty sure you'll be amazed too.

kudos, dayah. i still can't thank you enough.
you have just won yourself a lifetime supply of free caramel frappucinos. :D

"I have always heard a lot about Japan – the country, the advanced railway system contrary to that of Sydney, the technology that is always ahead of the rest of the world, the landscapes of mountains including the ever famous Mount Fuji, their infamous fashion styles and icons, the art of a Japanese Tea Ceremony, the crafty origami and the gentle blooming of a Sakura. But the one thing that amazes me every single time someone mentions Japan, Land of the Rising Sun, is their people – the Japanese. Why you may ask? The answer is quite simple, the Japanese are the most polite and generous people I’ve ever known. Having met and acquainted with a number of Japanese people here, I am even more convinced in the way they all act and the way they work. The Japanese are never parsimonious with their smile and are always working hard to achieve the best.

Given the opportunity, it would be in my inquisitive nature to grasp all that i can and strive to learn more about this somewhat elite society. I would love to see the nature in which they run their lives, surrounded by their amazing customs and colourful culture; to discover their need to use mats when they sit on the floor to eat, their epic rise to fame with a dish so simple and global as sushi and sashimi, and to simply be surrounded by their authenticity and traditional ways.

Being a frequent traveller of the world, i have had the opportunity to be exposed and experience the ways of a variety of different cultures. Unfortunately, Japan is not on this list in which i truly yearn for this experience and provided with such a prospect, I would in return share the Australian culture and hope that the ever so amiable Japanese will be able to teach me a thing or two about their vast culture.

Japan is a unique country with natural blossoms and distinctive architecture. Being a passionate student in the Biomedicine sector, I love how Japan is known for their advanced research and development. There is always that side of Japan that is continually advancing while the other side is more laid back and relaxed, immersing itself to its wonderful traditions – a factor lacking in my previous experiences with other countries and its culture. For me to not love Japan for this, would immensely be a sin.

Although I have never studied Japan in depth nor have I visited the country, I have learnt a lot about the Land of the Rising Sun, personally from one of my good Japanese friends. I’ve listened to Japanese pop music which is rarely imitable to any other country, I would love to visit Japan and see firsthand, with my very own eyes, whilst embracing their ethnicity, the way of life and the social customs amongst the people. And like the famous Japanese world view saying – ‘Wabi-Sabi’ – there would be no perfection without imperfection, Japan is the perfect elucidation surrounded by the imperfections of the world and that’s what I love about it."

xoxo.
