what a week!

my mouth is burning.
i just finished eating mee hoon goreng with sambal terasi. :)
what's sambal terasi? it's probably the indonesian sambal belacan.
but it's super nice and super hot.
like the makcik in stall 2 in nss canteen punye sambal mee soto. ahhh.

okay anyway.
what's the deal?
uni has obviously started.
it was so good to be back la.
BUT. i still don't understand why i cannot keep myself awake in lectures.
annoying la can.
it has been awesome though.
i have ALOT of classes as you can see 22 hours of classes is NOT NORMAL for a uni student.
i think 80% of the students has an average of 13 hours so mine's not very cool.
at the end of the day i will usually leave school with two state of mind...

1) totally mentally drained - considering the fact that i actually heard a billion anatomical terms which they expect me to hafal.

or

2) totally blank (yeap it comes with the blank face if you've seen one) - considering the fact that i switched off during all classes or was seriously grossed out by the wet specimens.

how was classes btw? right. i don't know if anyone does read my blog la but anyhoo its good to share.

intro anatomy - 80% hafal EVERY SINGLE PART OF THE SURFACE ANATOMY and i'm telling ya its so much harder than the left ventricle, aorta, mitochondria and shits. it's like labelling something inside the mitochondria. it's not very fun, i think i have to stock up more on my gingko bilobas (mum's classic) or nature's way omega 3 (the modern one) or the-every-kid-hate fisherman's oil or Brand's Essence of Chicken. it's good though haha proven to be but yuck its disgusting.

yeah anyway, lectures is really that, the lecturer will go on and on about the name of the parts and its functions. no wonder it makes me sleep. BUT THE LABS ahh its pure fun. i nearly passed out in the first 2 secs but i realised its very psychological so i told myself to snap out of it.

we have a dissecting lab in uni yeah and we have like a post mortem fridge (sorry i really don't know the professional terms for all this hehehe) soo we get fresh off dead bodies from people donating them when they're alive and then consenting us to use it for study when they die a natural death. it's not smelly hahah it's soaked in formalin or something so the smell and rots go away and at the same time keeping the tissues alive. it's really cool and you know what... hahaha. i think after looking at those wet specimens (meaning the dead body cut into the necessary sections for study e.g. the calf or abdomen) i should opt to become a vegetarian.

nothing like the books like fancy red and nice tone of yellow or something.. it's like how do i describe.. chicken. hoho. just kidding. it's very cool la especially when you get to touch a real heart and intestines and guts but damn i can feel sick after.

the other thing about this course is. we don't get to dissect them. it's somehow conducted by a team of specialists lol. and medical students. but there is this dissecting scholarship offer in summer maybe i should do it. fresh dead bodies + dark room (haha imagination) + scalpel + forceps + aqilah = fun. lol ok i feel sick already.

histology - basically complements intro but its very dry and boring. more labellings but more into it cos intro is only surface like labelling the phalanges and ulna or whatever but histology goes into the insides haha like nerve cells and bla bla. i have a feeling i will fail this subject. haha.

actually i don't know what histology is.

physiology - another boring subject. it's very chemistrycal and it goes on about the ions and electrical signals and all.

the fun thing is all three of them really relate to each other soo in one way or another if i have to hafal parts of the heart i only need to hafal once for three.

its very much related that i don't even know what the difference is hehe or how to explain them.

it's alright, i guess. so much better than studying statistics right so let's be happy!

spanish -

aqilah: hola! me illamo aqilah. como te illamas?
noorul: noorul.
aqilah: que tal noorul?
noorul: muy bien. y tu?
aqilah: asi-asi. de donde eres?
noorul: soy de australiana. y tu?

noorul: si. y tu? donde vives singapur?
aqilah: no. viva es australia.
noorul: mucho gusto aqilah
aqilah: adios!
