an inspiring day, i must say

right,
today i went for a realll shopping trip.
haha with noorul who else.
we're like shopping monsters man.
we could shop till we drop. gee.
bad bad habit.

i bought a top at jay jays. its costs $30.
i bought a converse shirt. really sweet ah haha. $20.
i bought this rip curl binder. $5 (yeah it was on clearance, its really nice)

and u know. i bought something for my mum.
a couple of weeks before the horrific accident right, mum and I went shopping at liverpool.
we walked in Esprit and then we were just like browsing around.
then in the clearance section is this really nice smart green striped shirt ah.
it was $80 but it was reduced to $55. mum was contemplating.
she really liked it. more like loved. but she don't really know whether she wanna buy it or not.
i told her just get it, i mean the price is worth its looks.
so she got. she loved it she wears it all the time la.

then during the accident, she wore that very same shirt.
and cos she had really bad injuries, the hospital people had to undress her.
ni bukan nak bukak button tau, they saje je amik scissors and cut the baju apart.
mcm siak kan.
then when we were discharged, mum told me the story.
i was shocked and sad ah cos she really loved that baju.
sooo i made my way to atleast 3 different Esprit shop to find that same design and size.
it was clearance when we got it so i doubt they sell it anymore.
sooo i was just living in muffled hopes la.

but then today!
i walked into that Esprit shop, and noorul saw the shirt!!
and gee, it was like the happiest moment of my life, haha.
i saw the price tag. it was still $55. i was ahhhh, burn my wallet! burn!
but then, i saw it on the collar there was like a dirt mark ahh.
and then there was only one left.
soo i had an idea. i walked up to the counter and asked slumberly.
'there's this mark on the collar, i still wanna get it, can i get discount?'
hahahaha. talk about being a typical singaporean.
so the lady went to her boss and they talked and she agreed to give me a discount.
BUT i cannot exchange or refund it.
how awesome great.

and guess how much it was? a cool $30.
yay. i was contented and couldn't wait to give it to mum.

she saw it and the look on her face just made me smile even more. (:

right then i went to pick up my gps.
ehh then kan so funny ah.
in the voice language right.
there's malay ahh. then u know what the speaker name is?
erra. hahahaha. slumber sey.
soo i tested the voice suare bukan mcm erra langsung ah.
lol. but its funny. 'selepas tiga ratus meter pusing kanan'.
hahahaha. sweet.

right then in the evening went to accompany dad to hospital.
geee. the neurosurgeon is very young like patrick dempsey from grey's anatomy ah.
and he's really good looking.
and he totally inspired me.
he was GOOD. and i mean GOOD not like those doctors who when being asked is there anything wrong they will answer no, it's just for a while just eat panadol.
he's just amazing ahh. he talked through us abt all the problems, symptoms and management of the nerve degeneration and all.
like woaaaahhh. i wanna be like him.

no but seriously. that 30mins i was in the room with my dad and him just makes me so inspired and leave the place feeling like i just had 30mins of motivating session.

anddd he graduated from UNSW doing bachelor of science first la. majored in anatomy then he did one year master of science in anatomy before going for his MBBS.
freaky right. yess. but it rang a bell in my head. a positive one.

was good. oh and the point is.
dad has a crushed nerve in between the spinal cord. nerve c7.
cos the nerve is crushed, signals from the brain to the rest of the body cannot be detected.
soo that's why dad feels the pain.

doctor gave him a nerve something its like an injection suppose to like decrush the nerve.
and stop the pain within 3 weeks.
but if he still feels the symptoms he has to go for surgery.
sooo let's just doakan the best for him eh.

watched barack obama swearing in and inaugural speech.
damn it touched me in many ways.
that man is amazing.
he's gonna change the world and the very weird thing is when he was doing his swearing in, i could feel that change has come.
change will stay and he will bring about the best of this world.

and at that moment i wished i was an American.
maybe one day hahahaha.
but just a snippet of what he said which is the most meaningful to me.

'The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness.'

'To the people of poor nations, we pledge to work alongside you to make your farms flourish and let clean waters flow; to nourish starved bodies and feed hungry minds. And to those nations like ours that enjoy relative plenty, we say we can no longer afford indifference to suffering outside our borders; nor can we consume the world's resources without regard to effect. For the world has changed, and we must change with it.'

'To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect.'

and yes i believe, that change do come not only from him but from everyone - Americans, Asians, Australians, Middle Easterns and Africans alike.
it does take time but yes i believe we will make it.
not only for us, but for our future generations.

it was such a great speech. i love it cos it makes me think. :)

right. i'm outta here.
meeting raihana tmr!
work work and more work.
