this week has been a rather tragic, and exhilarating week.
let's see...

monday
well. school officially starts from my last post.
nothing fun, so-so.
at approx 10.15am, i got a call from john my boss.
saying that there's an 'urgent' meeting tmr, tuesday ah.

Calling.... sbx store.
me: (to myself) oh shit jangan la panggil aku kerje. ish.
he: hey, okay audra our district manager just called and told us that all stores in australia will be closed at 2pm tomorrow.
me: oh okay. and?
he: there will be an urgent meeting for all partners tmr at 4pm at novotel darling harbour. i don't know what its about and all but you have to have to come.
me: oh.. okay. (not too bad ah till now haha). i have school though.
he: hmm, but its really really urgent. can't you take sick leave or something?
me: what? okay.. i will call u back and let you know.

so i checked ahh my timetable smue.
den fortunately the molecular bio lab last tuesday was cancelled.
so i could go.
so okay i rang him back and ya ya i agreed.

later that day.
i read on the news that the whole of australia know that there will be a staff meeting for starbucks and all stores gonna close at 2pm.
and somehow, they linked it to the story where starbucks US closed down 600 stores.
and all so i kindagot the drift that maybe the 'urgent' meeting tmr was about closing the stores in australia or something.
i tried not to think anything or make my mind sway and all.
but it is a possibility. made me think really.

tuesday
early morning at like 8.45am.
my sb friend send a mass msg saying that the radio announced sb gna close all stores in aust.
shocked? a little. not a surprise though that they will have to shut down SOME of the stores.
but i'm gna cry my heart out if they gna close all 84, including mine..
which means i will be out of job. which means it sucks.

throughout the day sb already flooded the media.
radio, newspapers, internet. everything ah.
i stayed cool. i mean if i really gna lose my job then fine.

noonoo was like 'alarr tak ah. how can they shut all stores?'
reassured.

4pm...
we all gathered at novotel for the moment.
let me give a lil run through.
sb in australia has as little as 85 stores since we started in 2000.
a month ago one store was closed due to some ruginess, which makes it 84.
there are like 11 stores in the city/town itself. which is my area.
the meeting i was at novotel. and another one was at metro hotel.

bla bla bla those ppl made their speech.
then they announced that sb will be closing 61 stores in australia.
only 23 will remain open. 10 of them will be in sydney.
all of the stores which is currently in this meeting room will remain open.

that moment i was like woah. too much to swallow, stop rewind.
they say again, of all the 40 stores in sydney.. this stores will remain open.
haymarket, george st, hyde park, QVB (my home store), cockle bay, circular quay, transport house, international airport, mount druitt and westmead.
then they continued saying about those ppl who gna lose their job will get like payments and all.

at that moment, i was relieved honestly.
but when i figured that some stores which i have worked at are gonna close..
and the people i've known are gna lose their job in a split sec due to a major 'restructuring project', i don't count myself lucky.

the worse thing is.
my ex-manager who left my store to pursue a better position in starbucks as a specialist something2, fleur her name, will lose her job too.
which sucks cos if it wasn't for her, our store wouldn't be really doing well as we are now.
if it wasn't for her great personality, structure and stuffs, we will fall behind and will lose our job.
it sucks eh.

but i guess, life will always be like this.

now i still have my job, i kinda have to like it.
lol. i mean i don't really think i deserve it much cos the passion i have when i first started somewhat only comes once in a pink moon.
and considering the fact that i only work 2 days a week/10hrs a week, i reckon others really need this job more than i do.

but come to think of it, i should just give it one last try ey.
i love working at starbucks and it's pretty obvious cos come november it'll be my 3rd year.
bleagh.

when asked will other stores in other countries except US and AUS will be affected..
they say no.

wednesday
nothing cool happened today except that.
i had classes from 9-2pm without a single break which i find it quite tedious and hungry.
haha.
and then its too late to change my timetable, so i guess i will be enjoying wednedays for the next 11 weeks.

thursday
ahhh. i love thursday 31st july.
because.. siti nuraqilah binti haji norazman has officially got her licence.
WOOOOOOT.
seriously i passed the first go and the feeling is just awesome!

to honour it, noonoo got the official first ride.
we just drove drove drove everywhere and anywhere the feeling is FREEDOM.
best ah really. mcm woah.
and just mcm 2 hours aku dah pass je gtros pegi jln2.
hahaha.
gerek sey mcm finally ah.
that's done. over and out.

oh and to noonoo.. when's your turn ah?

hehe. next stop? nissan micra. heaven.

friday
we had a fundraising dinner yesterday.
it was a fundraising for the mosque we're building in our community.
it was really fun i guess.
there's silat performance and all.
it's cool.
me and noonoo were ushers last night and it was great.

and there was silat too. surprise surprise.

okay ah.
i guess i better start doing something good now.

oh and surprise i didn't go to the movies this week.
bloody uni.
